A Road Safety Awareness Camp was successfully organized at NIST University in collaboration with the Transport Department, Government of Odisha. The session was graced by Mr. Somanath Sabar, Assistant RTO, Ganjam, and Mr. Rohit Kumar Panda, Junior Motor Vehicle Inspector, Ganjam, as distinguished guests. The program was also attended by Dr. P. Rajesh Kumar, Vice-Chancellor I/C of NIST University.

Addressing a vibrant audience of over 250 students, Shri Jaiswal delivered an insightful talk emphasizing the importance of research, criticalthinking, and product development in creating globally scalable technologies.

NIST University celebrated International Women's Day with enthusiastic participation from students and staff members. The celebration commenced with a Walkathon involving women employees and students, setting a vibrant tone for the event. Dr. P. Rajesh Kumar, Dean (Academics), graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), NIST University, successfully organized an online Student Research Symposium on AIoT Innovations for a Sustainable Environment (AIoT4SE2026) on 9th April 2026, marking the occasion of World IoT Day. The symposium served as a dynamic and intellectually engaging platform for academicians, researchers, and students to explore the rapidly evolving fields of AI and IoT.

NIST University celebrated the World Art Day with Art-O-Rama 2026, a vibrant initiative by the NIST Arts & Dramatics (AD) Club that brought together students for an inspiring celebration of creativity and expression. Centered around the theme "Childhood," the event showcased a beautiful blend of sketches, paintings, and digital illustrations, reflecting nostalgia, imagination, and artistic depth.

The Global Summit for Blue Economy was held at the Odisha State Convention Center on 13–14 March 2026, organized by the Office of the Principal Scientific Advisor. The summit brought together an international community of students, researchers, educators, technology developers, business leaders, funding agencies, naval personnel, and policymakers to discuss sustainable innovations for the blue economy.

NIST University's IIC Cell organized a inspirational talk on "Achieving Problem–Solution Fit" at its Volga Conference Center, TIFAC Building. The session was delivered by Dr. Prabina Kumar Padhi, Assistant Professor and HOD, Dept. of Business Administration, SBRG Women's College, Berhampur. Prof. Alok Patra welcomed the speaker and the students to the seminar.

NIST University proudly hosted Kurukshetra-2026, the grand inter-university sports competition of South Odisha, on its campus from 26th February to 2nd March 2026. The week-long sporting event brought together talented athletes from various institutions, creating an atmosphere of enthusiasm, teamwork, and healthy competition. The event was formally inaugurated by Prof. Priyadarsan Patra, Our Esteemed Vice Chancellor, who encouraged students to actively engage in sports along with academics, highlighting the role of physical activities in building a balanced and successful life.
